This & That This Weekend in Wake Forest...
So much going on in Wake Forest
As we prepare to wrap up 2021 in Wake Forest NC it has come to my attention that the world, while not back to pre-COVID "normal" conditions (whatever that means) has returned to being BUSY! There is so much to do. Lighting of trees in many towns...in some cases the lighting towers etc... Running to the store for lights, ribbon, paper, gifts, food, more food, bows, Christmas trees, candles, gift cards, wreaths, did I mention food? The constant running to and from stores. Gifts for the littles to give to teachers like homemade ornaments (yes, you type A parents know who you are!), preparing to travel, getting back from traveling, office Christmas parties, Holiday lunches, a Starbucks triple, venti, light, whipped, mocha, latte, peppermint yadda yadda yadda! Oye vey! SO MUCH TO DO!!!
What the season was once about has been lost by the commercialization of our society. I used to complain about these things and truth be told, they still bother me. That being said...my new found perspective post-COVID has me appreciating people. Seeing them. Hugging them. Speaking to them. Engaging. Sharing a coffee. Buying them a lunch. I am looking forward to ll things commercialized for Christmas this year. Sometimes, yes, sometimes....I just like the feeling of normal. I want that call from Santa. I want that triple nut milk latte peppermint light whip yadda yadda yadda -- Actually, no...I just want my Dunkin Donuts Coffee!!! LOLOLOL. Seriously though, I hope to be at all of these events and things....
